Aluminum circle blanks for lighting lamps are usually made of aluminum alloy because of their excellent thermal conductivity, light weight, corrosion resistance and good processing performance. They are mainly used for heat dissipation, reflection and structural support of lighting items.
Alloy selection
Common aluminum alloy grades of aluminium circle blanks for lighting lamps include 1050, 1060, 1100 (pure aluminum, thermal conductivity of about 234 W/(m・K)), 3003 (containing manganese, suitable for deep drawing) and 5052 (containing magnesium, high strength). Among them, 1000 series aluminum alloys are often used in lampshades and reflectors due to their high reflectivity (such as 1060 after anodizing, the reflectivity can reach more than 65%); 3000 series alloys (such as 3003) are widely used in spinning or stamping processes due to their good formability.
Technical parameters
- Thickness: 0.3-6.0mm (common in lampshades), heat dissipation substrates may be thicker (such as 1.0-3.0mm).
- Diameter: 80-1500mm, adjusted according to the type of lamp (e.g. embedded lamps are mostly below Φ300, industrial high bay lamps can be above Φ300).
- Surface treatment: anodizing (enhanced corrosion resistance and heat dissipation), nano spraying (improved reflectivity) or mirror polishing (for high-precision reflectors).
- Thermal conductivity: The thermal conductivity of 1060 aluminum circles reaches 234 W/(m・K), which is better than 6063 (201 W/(m・K)), suitable for LED lamps that require efficient heat dissipation.
Features of aluminum circle for lighting:
- Thermal conductivity:
Aluminum has good thermal conductivity, can effectively dissipate heat and extend the service life of lamps.
- Lightweight:
Aluminum material has a low density, which can reduce the overall weight of the lamp and facilitate installation and transportation.
- Corrosion resistance:
The aluminum surface can be oxidized to form a protective layer to improve corrosion resistance.
- Good processing performance:
Aluminum circle blanks can be processed into different shapes by cutting, stamping, extrusion, etc. to meet various design requirements.
Typical application scenarios of aluminium circle blanks for lighting lamps
- Reflector and lampshade
Mirror reflector: 3003 aluminum circle spin forming, surface nano spray treatment, reflectivity can reach more than 90%, suitable for industrial and mining lamps and projection lamps.
Diffuse reflective lampshade: 1060 aluminum discs are embossed or orange peel treated, light uniformity is increased by 40%, and it is often used for home lighting.
- Heat dissipation components
Aluminum circles are used as heat dissipation substrates for LED lamps. Through large-area contact with the light source module, heat is quickly transferred to the shell. For example, deep-drawn 1060 aluminum circles are used for street lamp heat dissipation modules. With anodizing treatment, the temperature of the lamp can be reduced by 5-10℃ and the service life can be extended to more than 50,000 hours.
- Structural support
5052 aluminum circles (tensile strength 260MPa) are used for pendant lamp holders. They are lightweight and high-load-bearing, meeting IP65 waterproof grade requirements.
